Baptism, the Eucharist, and the sacrament of Confirmation together constitute the "sacraments of Christian initiation, whose unity must be safeguarded. It must be explained to the faithful that the reception of the sacrament of Confirmation is necessary for the completion of baptismal grace. Catechism of the Catholic Church 1285
CONFIRMATION PREPARATION—GRADE 7
Two years of preparation is expected prior to receiving this sacrament and he/she must be 12 years old at the beginning of the Faith Formation year and in the 7
th grade. Confirmation preparation is a time of study and discernment for the candidate. The program is divided into two phases requiring completion of Phase I prior to entering Phase II.

Confirmation Service Opportunities
We require all confirmation students to complete 20 hours of community service in order to instill a sense of ownership in the church and a sense of adult Christian responsibilities. The parish provides opportunities for service hours but it is the student's responsibility to ensure they complete them.
If a student is at least 15 years old and in high school they can attend an ACTS retreat which will count as 10 hours of service. More information about ACTS and registration information can be found at
